Excel is happy to announce our try-out dates for the Fall/Winter (2021-2022) season. Try-outs will occur on Monday, August 16th from 5:00pm-7:00pm as well as Tuesday, August 17th from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Participants will need to register and can do so at https://iowaexcel.teamsnapsites.com/tryouts/. Players only need to attend one night.

The Fall/Winter season will be open to boys in 2nd through 8th grades. We will not be offering try-outs for Girls teams at this time due to limited gym space. We do hope to get more gym space in the future which would allow us to expand the Girls teams offered. For boys we plan to offer 2-3 teams per grade level.

  • Excel Red – Our most competitive team at each grade level.  These teams will play top talent across the state and potentially neighboring states.
  • Excel Black – These teams will play in tournaments in the Cedar Valley with potential to travel within the state.  Common locations include the Cedar Rapids area, Ames, or potentially Des Moines.
  • Excel White – These teams will play in more local tournaments with a greater emphasis on school team level competition.
