Excel Red 2026 visited Omaha over Memorial Day weekend to compete in the Prep Hoops Next Circuit’s “Midwest Regional Final” tournament.  The team fought hard and finished 5th out of 13 teams competing from across the Midwest, finishing 3-2 on the weekend.  This included a 52-50 OT thriller victory of Mid-Missouri Elite, a 50-27 win over the Nebraska Rockets Elite (NRE), and a 58-46 victory over ECI basketball out of the Dakotas.  This group came up short against Northstar Titans Kuhl (Minnesota) and X-Men United (Wisconsin).

The team was led in scoring by Caden Sorensen (95-pts), Rebounding leaders were Sorensen/Evans/DeWinter (23-rebounds each), Assist leaders were Sorensen/DeWinter (11-assists each), and Steal leaders were Sorensen/Spence (9-steals each).

Caden Sorensen was recognized by the Prep Hoops Next Circuit for his contributions as he average nearly 20-points per game over the weekend.
